Derby- the neutrals feel for you

Oh woe Derby County
Football fans feel for you
Tonight. Relegation
To the third tier
The truth rammed home
Condemned to the darkest
Room, the lowest of lows
Sobbing skies over Pride Park
Cloughie would be livid
But fighting back the tears
Fear not he would say
Your day at the heights
Of football’s princely plateau
Will return
But for now the days of Dave Mckay
And heady Saturdays at the ground of
The not so American baseball where
Once League titles flew the flag
For a while
Now dropping into
What seems like a basement
Raich Carter, Bruce Rioch,
Kevin Hector, Roy Mcfarland
Now ghostly names from the past
But one day football will smile
On your tender terrain
