It is silly of me to go out in the cold
To sit and watch football
So I’m told, by those so bold
To claim to know it all

I could demonstrate to save the whale
My time would be well spent
So I hear, when they bend my ear
From those on a campaign bent

I’m not very smart, I’ve been known to fart
When a cough would be more fitting
So they say, with clear dismay
Who next to me were sitting

I’m getting old, but I still shout loud
When the ref is clearly wrong
Which, in my part of the crowd
Is true the whole match long

But I’ll get a high till the day I die
From football, so alas!
If you don’t like me as I walk by
You can kiss my football-mad – pass
