Things were loking bleak
Half time, three nil, Milan had won
They were playing at their peak

Brought the Reds to Istanbul
Now they needed help from higher up
A miracle for Liverpool

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Shanks called a meeting of The Board
Bob and Joe and new boy Hughes
Soon after the restart Gerard scored
And you felt they may not lose

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Dudek made a save or two
With help from up above
And the Redmen in the huge crowd knew
Shanks was looking down with love

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The Twelfth Man must now play a part
The Twelfth Man roared and sang
Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart
Round Istanbul it rang

And two shots hit the net
The miracle almost now performed
The final stage was set

Shanks whispered in Dudek’s ear
He wobbled his legs, left and right he dived
He knew he had nothing to fear

The Reds were home and dry
The applause almost caused the Earth to quake
Grown men were seen to cry

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 Rafa and the team deserved their praise
The cup was theirs at last
They won it under the Heavenly gaze
Of great men from the past
