In the heated passion of the moment
When common sense can go astray
Lets not forget true friendship
You are team-mates every day

One is sad and downcaste
The other on a high
But amidst the mayhem of a World Cup win
They catch each others eye
¶ 3
Leave a comment on verse 3 0
Though one is deeply hurt they exchange shirts
One wipes the others tears
Soft words of solace spoken are a token of true caring
Whilst the hostile crowd still cheer
¶ 4

Such aware and sensitive footballers
Are not it seems a common thing
So from these two blokes there’s at least a ray of hope
In these days of me, me, me and bling?
¶ 5

To win, to win is everything
When we take to lush green space
But lets not forget the side that lost
For whom our friends and team-mates play?
