How Times Have Changed.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Funny how the pain don’t stay
Around for very long
When another time, on another day
We might have blimmin won.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The hurting passes fast and fades
Like yesterdays bad news
What can yer say what can yer do?
But blimmin carry on.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Winning is not the only thing, it’s everything
Or so they used to say
But that was when our team gave everything
Out on the field of play.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 “Whole team’s upset and right distraught
What’s happened to the boss”.
Yeah right! But the truth is, as the players can’t
Be asked to put it in, should we/he really give a toss?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Call me kinda cynical
Call me anything you like
But were passion and commitment somewhat invisible
At Wemberly the other night!

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 I remember days when players played
With heart and soul to win
The honour of wearing an international cap
T’was simply the greatest, like being crowned a king.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 We’ve not seen the like of blokes like that
In our national team for ages
In order to get them to at least qualify
The other night. What did we have to do?
Offer them with a fortnights wages!

Notes

I don’t know if it’s true, but I’ve heard the Ingerland players were on a bonus of £250.000 a man to qualify, for the Euro’s, the other night in the game against Croatia!

For most of them that’s…….um…. two weeks wages!

No wonder most of them didn’t bother turning up!
