In those days of lies that I recall.
The made us feel so guilty and small.
They tried to imply we killed our own.
No respect from some, only malice shown.

They hoped we had no answers at all.
But our City stood firm, red and blue.
For justice we stood, as the truth we knew.

Since Duckenfield rolled the first ball.
We listened in anger, we listened in shock.
Lies being told virtually around the clock.

In those days of lies that I recall.
When McKenzie’s paper set out its stall.
An almighty battle our great City faced.
But victory we always vowed to taste.

All these years later, the truth’s been told.
A victory banner the Kop’s entitled to hold.
We’ve fought hard together, proud and tall.
