1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Were yer emotionally drained at the end of the game
Was yer throat a trifle sore
Were yer tired from the wired up excitement
Were yer still slightly deaf from the roar

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Were yer feelings still reeling and yer heart still appealing
At that decision that went agin
Did you see with thine eyes a new face arrive
Who you thought would be savior and king

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Were the pirouettes sweet
As the artistes changed feet in dazzling speed on the run
Did the excitement and palpitations there in yer heart
Tell yer head, ‘And this is what you call fun’???

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Did the colours and funk leave yer feeling as drunk
Dizzy and dire need of a seat
Were yer lost in the lust of the atmosphere
Using swearwords one dare not repeat

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Did it rain, did it snow or don’t yer quite know
You were sat there, all head held in hands
In all honesty, tis not possible to comment on
Anything bar what went on within stands

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Were yer wrapped up for the cold, did you act oh so bold
When at half time yer were three one up
But due to a second half catasratrophe
Your cup run had an end so abrupt

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Were yer glad, were yer sad
Did that miss make yer mad
As the goal stood there gaping at him
Who you all thought was manna from heaven
The things we fans say on a whim

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 Did the coach change the play
Did those gathered there say
‘Yer man’ll get us out of the mire’
But you pinned all yer hopes on yesterdays hero
Who should hang up his boots and retire

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 When the pea signalled fin
Did the ref sport a grin
Then take time to congratulate the players
On their fine gamesmanship, their diving, sly kicks
The missed open goals and the mares?
