It is the bleak midwinter,
Crisp and enervating.
But though it’s chill,
Please shush! Be still,
For Jason’s hibernating.

A time for quiet reflection,
A time for contemplating,
A time for peace,
When matches cease,
And Jason’s hibernating.

All of life is dormant,
Preparing, watching, waiting.
Hanging on
Till winter’s gone
While Jason’s hibernating.

The north wind has cold breath,
‘Tis most invigorating,
But why it blows
Nobody knows,
For Jason’s hibernating.

The lifeblood’s in his instep,
The pulse of goals gestating.
For thus his large,
Bless’d feet recharge,
While Jason’s hibernating.
