Keeping It Real

To keep it real before the games began
I went to a Belgian town
I visited the Menen Gate
And looked it up and down
I saw the names there, carved in stone
Thousands, aye, and more
The men who died to keep me free
To watch old England score
Like many more, if my team lose
I’ll seek someone to blame
But unlike those on the Menen Gate
They will only have lost a game
