Liverpool Pride

I wrote a wee poem not so long ago
About Liverpool passion and pride
Well now all the rest of you know
They’re not just there for the ride
I said that old Shanks would be proud of these boys
Emlyn Hughes must be feelin’ pleased too
As he sits up in Heaven enjoyin’ the joys
And watches the Red versus Blue
They (maybe) won’t win, but he knows that at last,
The pride of the Mersey restored
The fans can now sing, and not just of the past
Of the team they have always adored
