Should be paramount to your dreams
If to reach the very pinnacle
Is in the scheme of things

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 To celebrate together
To mourne a close defeat
Its not always possible to be victiorious
As you’ll suffer when you’re beat

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 The ethic of any game
No matter what folk say
Is that, no matter how hard you try
You can’t win, each time you play

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 To congratulate the other team
In the winning of the cup
To put a brave face on, in defeat
Is tough, but life is tough

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Someone has to win the game
Whilst someone has to lose
Today, fate smiled down on them
Next time? Who knows, it could be you!

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 To try to lose with dignity
Is very hard to do
But those Aussie boys proved yesterday
That losing can be cool!

Notes

I’m not a cricket fan, as anybody, who reads here knows.

But listening to the game on the wireless, I couldn’t fail to be impressed big time, by the great sportsmanship and fighting spirit of both teams, in what was a great test series.

The congratulations offered by Shane Warne, to the England batsman on reaching his century was a lesson to us all in what being a really good ‘sport’ is all about, surely?

Big up to both teams!

Big up, also to Cork for winning the All Ireland hurling final in front of an 82.000 crowd in Dublin on Sunday!
