My club is making me ill

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I’m feeling down in the dumps
struggling to get to sleep at night
people say I’m looking tired
in fact I don’t feel at all right.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 My doctor has given me some pills
and advised me to take a long break
he said my team is bad for my health
and to stop going for my sanity’s sake.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Whatever I’ve got must be catching
because a lot of Coventry fans are bad
this illness is linked to watching the City
and it leaves you feeling tearful and sad.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 The only cure is to keep well away
or in the end I will go completely insane
so being a supporter of the Sky Blues
can seriously do damage to one’s brain.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But even though I feel sick as a pig
and my blood pressure is sky high
I’ve decided to keep following my team
even though their performances make me cry.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So football can be bad for your health
and leave you feeling really blue
but once a fan always a fan
because this is what we do !

Notes

My club are having yet another lousy season so far and fans are brassed off with the board and lack of signings, in fact most fans are predicting relegation.

As I’m a long suffering hard bitten Cov fan – I’ve heard it all before.

But even though this poem is a bit over the top I know what it feels like to be run down and depressed following your club.
