Someone once said
“the goalies are different”

we wear long sleeves,
and gloves all year,
and most of us
are immune to fear.

often pivotal
always blamed,
still number one,
thats my claim.
¶ 4

allowed the ball in our hands,
the world at our feet,
allowed to carry
the world’s heartbeat.
¶ 5

forced to hear the cruel crowd,
but standing tall,
unphased,
– and proud.
¶ 6

we’re the guardians of the network,
the best position to be had,
suffering the immense pressure,
little wonder we’re all mad.
