There was I in a pub in Chester
Six loud Scotsmen roared,
The lad McFadden the man of the moment
Once again had scored.

He unleashed a shot much closer than,
His wonder goal he scored in France.
With all his might that shot that night,
Gave the man in the sticks no chance.

Here am I the living proof,
Six loud Scotsmen raised the roof.
Honest, it is no joke,
The pub was the Royal Oak.
