We all have a hero, someone we wanted to be,
My hero was a footballer who did his job superbly,
The first time I saw him he scored a last minute winning goal,
In my opinion far better then the likes of Owen, Shearer and Cole.

He scored them with his left foot, he scored them with his right,
As the supporters shouted his name he’d wave, to our delight,
And although playing in a low division he wore a few England caps,
Scoring a good deal of goals, mainly thanks to Gazza’s overlaps.

The world cup approached and we all feared he’d move team,
The big clubs made bids, for his services they were keen,
But Bully remained faithful to the boys in gold and black,
Going on to score over 300 goals in the centre of our attack
