THE CRIMSON CLOUD OF HEALY
¶ 1

The lions lay in the shadow of the crimson cloud,
Gazing at their white colour that, slowly, fading…
They longed to regress to yesteday to relive life,
They yearned to devour their invincible rival.
Their sweat, upon the Thames…their tears, on the Tyne,
Trickling for months in joylessness.
Now, the tame lions, sadly, listened to their wails.
