The day of my grandson’s birthday, a party had been arranged
The day of the semi-final, you may think that I’m deranged
I chose to go to the party, crazy though that may seem
The game was on the Tele, The Blades against my team

The room was full of children, and mums all full of pride
Until the dressed-up Clown appeared, he stayed close by my side
I watched him blow out the candles, and join in all the fun
I heard him laughing loudly, my four-year grandson

I have seen a great many Arsenal games; I may see many yet
But as much or more than any of these, there’s a moment I won’t forget
When the Clown said: “Off you go now”, and put away his magic wand
My grandson quickly crossed the room, and tightly held my hand
