The greatest team nevers succeeds
A pundit said as a matter-of-fact
Their superiority oft misleads
Tend to fall in the final act.

And isn’t it an awful shame
When those talented players lose?
But they’re the ones who are to blame
When they miss their cues.

Intimidation perseveres
But there always comes a time
When teams forget about their fears
And start a steady climb.

The favourites all start to slip
Efforts made in vain
Just as they surmount their blip
They’re back on the plane.
