As we stood above the Gallowgate
As ‘Championey’ rang out loud
The Blue boys took to field of green
Those Geordies did us proud!

They cheered us on to sacred ground
And clapped us to a man
Then celery rained down on them
Like manna from your man!

We made folk lore with that one draw
And cheered as Shedheads can
As our scratch team fulfilled our dreams
With one defeat all term!

As end did come as end doth do
We clapped and cheered and sang
We are the champions this year
The best team in the land!

The Toon were very gracious
It’s not been a good year
But to a man they cheered and sang
As our team did appear!

An annus horriblus from hell!
