After work, and chores and snores
Football comes into play

Kick-off dictates when we dine

They help to gauge my mood
Three points and I’ll be happy
No points means I’m rude

Sundays can be like a carnival
Or gloomsville where no-one speaks
On Mondays we scour the local press
For news of the match in midweek

You can hear a game four nights in a row
Weekends also well-catered for

Marriage is a state I would not knock
I’m available any time to be a guest
But not Saturdays at three o’clock
