feeling lost whilst sat akin bushed and boards

We travel near and far in a skip like motor car
stories to tell, people to see and friends to make
if there are no steps, no impediments, we may get a jar
I bet there will be places sadder than this, even more afar

as people come and go, football ploughs on
we must remember them, do it in their name
for i’ts only a ball, whether big or small,
till the whistle then it’s game on
whether they’re here or not, in memory we will win
even if we get there in a Vauxhall bin.
