I walked through the storm
I held my head up high
But the light turned to dark
Every time I stepped out on the park

Under a glorious rainbow
There was a star studded Sky
But there was no sweet silver song
From the prejudiced throng

And the wind and rain (and spittle)
Spattered about my face
But I had hope in my heart
That I could at least play a part

Football was my life
My game of choice
So what if I kicked with the left foot
And had softer voice

So I walked on, alone in my dreams
It wasn’t to be, adulatory screams
‘Walk on’
‘Walk on’
Shunned and spurned, I walk on alone
While the intolerant wallow, in their comfort zone
