Greg Freeman is a lifelong Chelsea supporter, who bunked off school to go to Old Trafford for the Cup final replay of 1970. Imagine achieving your lifetime’s ambition at the tender age of 17. But I won’t say it’s all been downhill since then …

I’m a retired newspaper sub-editor, who is now news and reviews editor for the poetry website Write Out Loud. My debut pamphlet collection Trainspotters  was published by Indigo Dreams in 2015, and my first full collection, Marples Must Go!, which includes some poems posted here, by Dempsey & Windle in 2021 https://www.dempseyandwindle.com/gregfreeman.html. I’ve just published a new pamphlet collection (March 2022) with D&W titled The Fall of Singapore.

Above picture shows me, third from right, with fellow members of the Yorkshire Post’s occasional football team before our match against the Newcastle Journal circa 1980/81. (We won 4-1!)
