Winging It Again (Just !) ~ England 2-1 Italy

Emma Hayes we need you
how long can we be
hanging on for dear life
always endlessly
still afraid to take a chance
ev’ry now and then
why are we perpetually
winging it again ?

constantly relying on
the class of 22
over-faithful ev’ry time
this is what we do
Oh Serina why oh why
leave it oh so late
where has all our magic gone
what will be our fate ?

we’re still living in the past
like we always do
unafraid to take a chance
and embrace the new
one thing is for certain
we knew way back when
we can’t face the final
winging it again

all that talent on the bench
why oh why oh why
Kelly warming up all game
seconds ticking by
like some wild recurring dream
stick or twist or bust
wake up England we can’t keep
winging it…just !

signalling the rest
Lionesses humble Wales
with six of the best

from the so called Group of Death
England battle through
Sweden lying up ahead
still so much to do

trying not to see the path
focused on each game
in a squad that’s right behind
ev’ryone the same

tougher nights than this to come
evry game a test
for a moment lets reflect
on six of the best
