A Christmas Tale (2006)

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Santa Claus departs a cold North Pole
Those bright golden sleigh bells jingle
Get to Liverpool early, that was his goal
Was soon soaring high above The Dingle
Eventually, he reached Footballer’s Row
A landing strip of snow covered roofs
Trying not to wake those sleeping below
With the loud clatter of reindeer’s hooves

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Then he spotted it, Stevie G’s grand house
A miniature football pitch ‘round the back
Down the chimney quickly, quiet as a mouse
By the tree, emptied the gifts from his sack
Ever wondered why, that bright red suit?
Well, Santa supports Liverpool … it’s true!
And that’s why Mr. Gerrard got extra loot
A Surprise packet marked “from me to you”

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Stevie watched his wife and kids open theirs
Just like any proud husband and father
And then; after-shave, socks, pairs and pairs
There were many other presents he’d rather
Finally, the one that was specially prepared
He thought he had died and gone to heaven
A new footie kit and around that Liver Bird …
“Champions League Final, Athens ’07”
