Arsenal win the Premier League

And it’s good old Arsenal
We’re proud to say your name
To quote a 1970s chant
From the North Bank Clock end
In their delirious droves
An affectionate nod
To those Gunners titans
Now though Premier League winners
Yet again
But five decades ago
Bob Wilson guarding the
Privacy of his ageless net
The recently late and great
Peter Simpson then there was Bob Mcnab,
Victorious skipper Frank McClintock
George Graham, and of course
The impish and iconic Charlie George
Born with the Arsenal acoustics
Blaring richly in the
Symphony of red hued colour and
A triumphant cacophony
Of today and the present
Of Arsenal’s orchestral
Premier League title harmonies
Drifting across Gillespie Road
Then the highest Highbury
Which once resounded to Doubles
And a stately procession of
First Division championships
Before Bertie Mee
Left behind diamonds and
Red rubies to
George Graham
Who finally restored
Normality and
The status quo
When Michael Thomas,
Alan Smith,
The late and superlative
David Rocastle, then there
Was the matchless Tony Adams
And Alan Smith
Found the wonderful Brian Moore
With neat and succinct summaries
It was up for grabs
And Arsenal won the old First Division
At Anfield, mind blowing
Astonishment and
Amazing grace
In 1989
Before the world stopped
On its axis
Monumental achievements
When a French revolutionary
Named Arsene Wenger
Chipped away lovingly
Before suddenly
The breathtaking scupltures
Of Limpar, Thierry Henry
Robert Pires, and
The remarkably artistic
Denis Bergkamp
Rose to the surface
Like the cream of the crop
One Premier League after another
Then in record breaking style
For eternity
Or so it would seem
The Invincibles
Followed by FA Cups galore
Nobody beat them
At any game
So Saka, Rice, Gabriel
Skelly, Calafiori,
Havertz, the
Eternally inventive
Trossard, playful
Licentious skills
Leaving defenders
Blowing dust behind him
Arsenal win in the
Big time
Going for broke now
Champions League winners
Against PSG in the Final?
North London
Can feel the weight of history
Falling away into a
Blissful dream
Another Double Diamond
For your delectation
The drinks are on us
Well done you Glorious Gunners
