I Run the Line

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…
I keep a close watch on the number nine,
Defenders ask, but sometimes I decline,
Dressed in black, I simply look divine,
The job is mine,
I run the line.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…
I find it very very easy to decide
When to raise the flag and shout “Offside!”
I let pure luck and guesswork be my guide,
I’m doing fine,
I run the line.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…
The fans behind me are not too impressed,
They seem to think their judgement is the best,
But they’re just jealous of the way I’m dressed,
Such loutish swine,
I run the line.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…
I love to raise my flag into the air,
One decision makes the whole crowd swear,
Am I right? Sure, really I don’t care
It’s God’s design.
I run the line.
