The Cup!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Banana skins… we’ll slip up on
As our hopes go down the drain
Castle’s in the air, we’ll build upon
As The Cup’s come round again.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Upsets when we caused ’em’
“Were the nuts” when we woz kids
How we felled them mighty champions
With our scratch team on the skids.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 In the papers we were write off’s
Had a snowballs chance in hell
Our defence as stout as ice cream
We came guaranteed to fail.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 We’d listen avidily to the wireless
On our jaunts, by train or mini bus
As know all pundits called us spineless
And then implied, we’d no chance in that years cup.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Ah sure, hope as they say is a wonderful thing
Most grey days, it can brighten up
So who ever you follow, try’n be hopeful of winning
Cos that splashed with luck, may just help your team lift The Cup!

Good Luck to the lot of yer…..in the greatest domestic cup competition there is….The FA Cup.
