It’s early afternoon and the Staff are busily
taking stock to the sound of music
piped through speakers.

I know it’s the one where he’s sitting at a table
wearing his green Liverpool away shirt.
He’s grinning, offering a pint to the camera

The instant I stand in front of the photo,
smiling back at him, a shower of silver words
rain from the speaker above my head:

at the end of the storm there’s a golden sky
and the sweet silver song of the lark…

washing away my grief.
