Bigger, Fitter, Faster, Stronger

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The biggest, fittest, fastest & strongest kids
were always the first ones selected @ school,
when it wanted to be represented in a game of football.
And don’t ask me why
I was never asked to play.
That’s not really down to me to say.
Okay,
I was never exactly going to be a World-beater
You’d never see me on ‘Blue Peter’
But than my left-foot
You’d struggle to ever find one sweeter
No matter how many games you watched on the tv.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 It was a better left foot than anybody had.
The trouble was, as good as my left foot is, my right is equally as bad.
Every time I had a shot with my right
I just shinned it high & wide
Seems you can’t play this game with just one foot
(though God knows that I tried!).

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Nevertheless,
It seemed a shame that the school team seemed not applicable to all
I know the P.E. teachers just wanted to win & wipe the grin
off of other P.E teacher’s faces & in the biggest, fittest, fastest, strongest, they felt they were holding all the aces but isn’t sport @ school meant to be fun & about everyone?

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 I wasn’t looking for any kind of school-wide fame
People calling out my name
I just wanted to be allowed to play the game &
Be given a chance to shine.
To show the World what it was like to have as cultured a left foot as mine.
