Ode to Stevie ‘G’

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 He came from a place not far from the ground
Where the cheers for the game and fame abound
And in parts of Huyton where he used to live
I’m sure he once played down our street
He could kick the ball with both of his feet
The strip he wore would soon see better days

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Now he trains with Carra and the lads… Over at old Melwood
He’s taken the place of the best in the Kop as he stands where they once stood
Now he takes the bus and he waits outside them Shankley gates
To show us the FA cup and the Champions League trophy

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 His name is Steven Gerrard
But they call him Stevie ‘G’
His name is Steven Gerrard
And he plays for the LFC

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 When Chelsea’s game was looking grim
That’s when they started calling him
To come on down and show us how it’s done
Stevie said no thanks, I’m here to stay
I’ve got no time for the ‘Special One’s’ way
John Terry say’s he’s going back to Spain

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So he trains with Carra and the lads… Over at old Melwood
He’s taken the place of the best in the Kop and he stands where they once stood
Now he takes the bus and he waits outside them Shankley gates
To show us the FA cup and the Champions League trophy

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 His name is Steven Gerrard
But they call him Stevie ‘G’
His name is Steven Gerrard
So they gave him an MBE
