Forty years since a revolution; a magazine if you will –
A treasured one shilling. Photos, articles, team profiles
On the great and the good that came to the old ground.
Features, facts and figures, the Social Club, the music
Scene – Wow ! A real departure from what was before.
Now, an accepted part of football hype; Then, an insight.

And so collectable, these days. What do they tell us, the
Back numbers in binders ? No obsession with corporate
Sponsors, official partners and all that modern bluster.
Teams of eleven and a substitute. One colour kits were
In vogue, letters page hints at troubled terraces. Adverts
For car tyres and cine films; another world, another life.

Thirty thousand at home games, follow the team away
With Don Everall coaches – exciting years, the vintage
Sixties. Beatles, Stones still going strong and songs of
The North Bank echoed under the low roof – hymns to
Doog, idol supreme. So now, those glossy pages musty
With age – still, they trigger thoughts of carefree times.
