Leonardo Paints Madrid Red.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 His smile
Lit up The Bernabeau
Like his side had done before him.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Whilst his style
Had hankies raining down
In an austere auditorium.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 In the aftermath of victory
He was sheepish,
Calm, polite.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 As a football city’s
Wall was breeched
By an ageing Meelan side.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 He resembled
A young Polanski
So sauve and debonair.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 To the football press assembled
Replys to questions in their language?
To the point, concise, and well prepared.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Defeat at last
Was laid to rest
On the home turf of Madrid.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 As a daunting past
Was put to bed
By a mere Brazilian kid.

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 Jubilation
Along the touchline
As the winner hit the net.

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 Frustration
For the summer signings
Of a team in massive debt.

11 Leave a comment on verse 11 0 Pensive
Looking at the clock
As the minutes ticked away.

12 Leave a comment on verse 12 0 Defensive?
Not a chance he’d tell his ageing squad
It’s attack the Brazilian way.

13 Leave a comment on verse 13 0 But he’s an under fire manager
Broken hearted
Sad, and depressed?

14 Leave a comment on verse 14 0 Yeah and judging by his manner
The only broken hearts were in the Bernabeau
In the 2-3 epic I’ve just witnessed!

Notes

AC Milan had never beaten Real Madrid in any European competition until last night that is, and a real (sic) cracker of a game it was in The Bernabeau.

Leonardo. Gods gift to eloquent punditry, the beautiful fairer sex and under fire Meelan gaffer sent his team out to give it a real (sic) go and give it a go they did, in fine style to win the game.

A cracking goal from Purlo drew them level after a terrible mistake by Dida, who we’ve written enough about here already, let The Pope (Raul) open up the scoring for Madrid. Then some fourteen year old kid fresh from the streets of Brazil, who reminded me of Ole Gunner Shouldscore what used to play for Team Man USA. stepped up to the plate to score two goals and nick the three points for Meelan. Who also had a perfectly good goal ruled out by the man in the middle for…only he knows, and as of today he ain’t saying so there!

A wonderful game and I hope and pray that Leonardo has already been booked by Auntie Beeb for The World Cup Finals, cos when Leo talks (Gary Lineker can’t or won’t say his proper name?) pundits and male football fans sit in awe and listen whilst armchair fans from the fairer sex have been known to get hot flushes and ..swoon at his take on the play!

Peace.

Kev.
