was going to be live on T.V.

So I went to the pub first
and got chatting to fans at the bar
they said they were staying there
even though the grounds not that far.

I had a couple of pints with them
then I said I was off to the match
but near to the stadium I didn’t feel right
and it wasn’t the dodgy beer or batch.

I’ve never done such a thing before
but I decided to turn back around

So I watched the game back in the pub
and true to form we went and got beat

But the next day I felt really guilty
as if I had let my beloved club down
it felt like I had deserted them
and it’s left me wearing a frown.

So I’ve pledged to never repeat it
I’ll never ever walk away again
I’ve promised to always be there
even though they put me through all this pain !
