Oh I wish I had a pair
Of those rose tinted glasses,
Then I wouldn’t really care
How we lost to those smartarses.

Tony has an old pair,
They serve him very well,
Cos when we lose it’s never fair
And not our fault we fell.

We’re sublime when we win,
They’re so lucky if we draw,
But if we lose he’ll use his spin
And clutch at any straw.

“You must have seen that handball …
We all saw it from our section,
The stupid ref didn’t make the call,
Didn’t look in that direction”

If we lose again this Saturday,
He can always blame the ref,
Or the other teams foul play,
Or the keeper being deaf.
The next time I see Tony,
I’m going to ask for his optician;
Though it may be just baloney
It will help my disposition.

And while it may not stop us losing
Or stop me getting fraught,
I’ll have a reason of my choosing
As to why it’s not our fault.

So I need to have a pair
Of those rose tinted glasses,
So when we lose, we can share
How decisions turned to farces
