A Heads Up To: Roy, Ray and Joe.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 “We need to have a heart with Hart”
Says Roy to second Ray
“We simply can’t watch Joe just fall apart
On another bad hair day.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 This country has a history
Of real class between the posts
Going back to Willie Foulke
To that Banks of England bloke.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Merrick, Swift and Springett
Shilton and Hopkinson
On occasion let the odd one in”
Said Roy, a trifle glum.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 “I know” says Ray right pensive
As he pondered Hart’s decline
“But I’ve a notion that it’s in the head
Where Joe’s real problems lie”

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So as a former young custodian
An bawled at last line of defence
Who no team-mate want’s to know
Or help, when a sods your only friend.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 I feel that with good reason
I’m well qualified to know
In a World Cup approaching season
To proffer sound advice to Joe.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 So at the risk of splitting hairs here
Or maybe getting it in the neck
I’m offering Joe a way to clear
His shoulders from errs net.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 You see I’ve experienced Joe’s embarrassment,
His ridicule and that total isolation
But his performing in them Head n Shoulders ads
Isn’t actually helping….clear up this present situation!

Notes

Is it just me who has the feeling that as soon as a major tournament approaches, our players in this country seem to be more focused on making money from ads on telly than actually doing the business out on the pitch, thus ensuring that we get to The Show in Brazil?

I know that Hart has been doing his anti dandruff stuff in the papers and on the box for some time….but if his career as a keeper at club and international level suffer because of it, is whatever he’s earning from said ads worth it?

He’s obviously not the first and certainly won’t be the last greedy footballer doing this for the extra dough. But I just can’t help thinking that the team actually suffer from a lack of focus on winning or at the very least performing well from being distracted by this type of thing.

Rant over. So I’m off to wash my hair.

Carefree…braised in Celery.

Go well, be lucky and keep smiling.

Peace.

Kev.
