I used to go a Wanderering

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I used to go a wandering
Down yon burnden way
I used to stand the lever end
And watch the Wanderers play

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I used to have a bulls eye brown
I used to have a pie
I leaned upon a barrier
And watched the game go by

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I used watch the half time scores
I queued at the burger stall
I used to listen a catchy song
My world is a football

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And in those later burnden years
The thought of leaving here
Tore me apart and broke my heart
I had to shed a tear

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But now we`ve got a lovely ground
I`m in the reebok groove
I still have a potato pie
And a pint of John Smiths smooth

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 I listen to the away support
They always sound so loud
And everybody takes the p***
Out of the reebok crowd

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 So now there is the internet
The Wanderers have a site
We get the wrath of other fans
Talking oh so shite

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 I love to go a wandering
Down yon reebok way
I now sit in the west stand
And watch the Wanderers play.

Notes

This was written on the back of a bus ticket at half time during the Portsmouth game 2000 on a cold wet evening.
