The son of a polish miner
He came from foreign lands,
There is no goalkeeper finer
With Jerzy Dudek you’re in safe hands.

He signed for Liverpool one August
The first pole ever to come here,
In Dudek we, the fans put our trust
To take away all of our fear.

26 clean sheets a legend had arrived
But his form then suddenly dipped,
Mixed fortunes continued and then restored pride
When in the Worthington Cup Manchester United where pipped.

So thank you Jerzy for coming to Anfield
We look forward to your moments of glory,
Upon arriving at Liverpool your fate was sealed
As you joined a club where success is a never ending story.
