The other day
I was up the wall
Through sheer boredom
So I picked up my ball.

I knocked at my Grandad’s
Ball in my hand
‘Wanna play football Girl?
I’m the best upon this land.’

Grandad whipped on his shorts
And his best woolly hat
Put on his worn football boots
‘Grandad, don’t kick the cat!’

But too late Grandad miss kicked the ball
And the cat flew over the hedge
Such an awful cry as Sooty did fly
And landed upon Grandad’s window ledge.

Sooty was fine after a saucer of milk
Although a little upset
Never again would she get in the way
Of Grandad’s flying boot I’ll bet!
