He’s rarely there, but you hear his name.
‘Paul – he must be 60 now – dictates the game.’

He’s reached the point where he rarely runs,
but exudes a past in higher echelons.
He can pick a pass and he’s a humble guy:
it’s the myth of the man with time.

You can take him on, but it won’t be his fault.
He sensed the danger, made all the right calls.
‘Where was the cover? Can you not read the signs?’
Hear the myth of the man with time.

Pure class. He’s on a different wavelength.
The ball went to no-one and over the byline
but ordinary players will fail to anticipate
the myth of the man with time.
