young Brazilian and Korean men, and the cable’s
malfunctioning, my Mom unhappy, frustrated

I’m on the phone, crouched to unplug, upend
the box; the phone cord at full stretch I read

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 the code number off the bottom; the kid sends
a signal to the box, gets an error code, there’s
nothing to do, I hand the smudged cream phone

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 back to Mother: a Monday service call is set up.
I put away the Lactaid, bananas, string beans.
Had the wrong day! The German women soccer

As I write, Birgit’s lacing up her shooting boots.
