Our Only Route to Europe Next Year?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We’re playing like a team from Hell,
Our league results have dipped,
Knocked out of the Cup as well,
Continuously pipped.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We’re bitten by the Euro bug,
We need the foreign travel,
But all the strands of this great drug
Are starting to unravel.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Our European hopes are slight,
Though prayers are offered up.
The only prospect now in sight
Is the Intertwobob Cup.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 All hope rests with the Champions League
To set our spirits soarin’
To overcome success fatigue,
Bad fortune and Glentoran.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Engerland has five teams. Why,
If Ireland has but one?
Our chances now to qualify
Are going, going, gone.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 ‘Champions Only’ is Ireland’s rule,
So here you see our plight,
We’ll have to do a Liverpool
And win the thing outright.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Why can’t UEFA change the rules,
Give smaller clubs a buzz?
They do it for the Liverpools,
Why not do it for us?

Notes

Only joking. I love the Champions League so much, the very real prospect of not being in it next year is nagging at me!
