5 – 1 In Munich

5 – 1 in the Munich stade,
And not a sight of a red card,
I was dreaming,
Fans were screaming,
I remember Carsten Jancker hitting the net,
All my fears being met,
I thought we were dead,
As I held my hands in my head,
But then came Owen’s equaliser,
A sure crowd riser.
Then everything became a blur…

But I remember:
Steve Gerrard’s huge kick,
Michael Owen’s hat trick,
Germany feeling sick,
The greatest day in English football history,
5 – 1 on the scoreboard for all to see….
