A Part of Me I Never Knew

I’m in England, waiting to sing
our National Anthem.
I’m watching my opponent.
He can smell my fear.
The fans are uncontrollable…
And so is the sweat on my face.
My team mate’s wishing me luck,
But in this case I need more than luck.
We’ve just had kick off,
I’m passed the ball,
I’m quivering in my high tops.
I head for the goal.
I’m at an amazing angle
and my luck just changed.

It’s the end of the match
And I’m walking down something that
Use to be the tunnel of fear,
But is now my tunnel of
PLAYING FOR SUCCESS!
