I wonder, I wonder
How my life would be
Certain emotions never felt
A passion that wouldn’t exist in me

I wonder, I wonder
How saturday afternoons would be embraced
I can’t visualize a pair of football boots never being laced

I wonder, I wonder
What would replace the hole
That would surely be there,
If I’d never experienced the feeling of scoring
a goal

I wonder, I wonder
How I would have understood the meaning of the
word flair, or otherwise realised that life
sometimes just isn’t fair

I wonder out of choice
I wonder because I care
I wonder because I love this beautiful game
That I just can’t imagine not being there.
