Will we ever find out the truth, about our football club’s demise?
Or will it always remain surrounded by ‘conspiracies’ and ‘lies’
There’s so much blame and counter blame, we just don’t know who to trust
All we know for sure, is that our football clubs gone ‘bust’

Every day a different ‘angle’, every day another story told
A little less to look forward to, as another player has been sold
The men in suits moved in quickly; the future for the club is not yet sure
How many players have we got left, it can only be three or four?

We don’t even own our football ground; the ‘suits’ have ‘fired’ the boss
It will be to another club’s benefit, most definitely County’s loss
If the club has any type of future, and it’s looking bleak to say the least
We could do with a rich benefactor, maybe from the Middle East?

If someone doesn’t come forward quickly, there’ll be no point in hanging on
Because Stockport County, the club we love, will soon be all but gone
There will be no more trips to Wembley, no more footie on Friday nights
Leaving only one thing left to say,
“Will the last one to leave, please switch off the lights”
