“I took the players in the morning, did a little training,
And then we did some indoor work, because it started raining.
And then I fixed the shower head that had become unsteady,
And then I washed the windows in the dressing room,”
Said Eddie.

“The floodlights all round Elland Road were due for a re-wiring.
I did them in the afternoon, although it was quite tiring.
And then I sewed the glass eye back on Mark Viduka’s teddy,
Before I did some weeding on the training pitch,”
Said Eddie.

“I fished out all the hair strands from the plughole in the shower,
And then I painted goalposts for a quarter of an hour.
I hoovered in the boardroom to make sure that it was ready.
It’s not easy trying to be a caretaker manager,”
Said Eddie.
