Rarely went to school
I spent such times in trouble
Breaking all the rules

Was on a field of green
Here I did what I was told
Because I was so keen

That was what I did
If a master told me to go in goal
I didn’t bat a lid

You’d be Denis Law
Or maybe a defender
With class like Bobby Moore

As later I loved girls
The different ways that it is played
In all parts of the world

That special kind of buzz
As you walk in to a football ground
It’s like meeting one you love!

To watch the different teams
A true fans know
They can take your soul
Then destroy your dreams

A team thats doing crap
You don’t need to be told
That they’re so bad
Because they’ll drive you mad

But I don’t really care
Me and this one the beautiful game
