Do You Remember?

Do you remember?
What were you doing that day
When Justice suffocated with the
Twisted limbs and truth of Hillsborough
Put out the washing
Listened to the game on the radio
Where were you at 3.06 pm
When time and truth stood still…

Do you remember?
How was your day that day
Like any other Saturday perhaps
Loaded down with shopping and trivia
The noise of the streets
Dull clouds pitched beneath
An absent sun
Perhaps….

Do you remember?
The place you were and who you were with
Etched into your heart and unwilling to
Leave no sanctuary no stone unturned
And yet truth oh elusive truth
Remembers well that day when
A football pitch became a cemetry
A graveyard for the truth.
