For houses stood in rows

The rains that turned the ground to floods
Once dried and measured flat

A bond of scuppered boots
Those fallen socks just like our dreams
Fast clambered down the shute

Scored goals all heaven bound
Made friends poured tears and dried them all

No one grew to pull on shirts
Of favoured football teams
But once yes once we seized the day
And lived those youthful dreams.
